Croatian Shepherd Dogs are gaining global recognition due to their intelligence, energy, and loyalty.
Found today in countries like Slovenia, Sweden, the Netherlands, and even Japan. In Japan, one dog named Kro became a symbol of the breed, admired by locals and inspiring others to adopt Croatian Shepherd Dog as well.
The Croatian Shepherd Dog has attracted the attention of many Japanese people, including the couple Hiroko and Jun Odakura, who were so impressed with the breed that they acquired two Croatian Shepherd Dogs, Rutvica and Kalma.
The Croatian Shepherd Dog stands out among other dog breeds because of its unique genetic trait – the lack of a tail.
This fascinating characteristic, known as anurality, is present in most individuals of this breed.
However, although the lack of a tail is a dominant characteristic, the Croatian Shepherd Dog may have a short or rudimentary tail.
