Officially recognized by the FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale) in 1969, the Croatian Shepherd Dog received FCI number 277 and is classified in the herding and cattle dog group.
Males 45–50 cm, females 43–48 cm – a perfect balance of compactness and strength.
13–20 kg – light yet muscular.
Dominantly black, giving an elegant and mysterious appearance.
A distinctive "fox-like" head gives them an intelligent and alert expression.
Body covered in beautiful wavy to curly hair (6–14 cm), with shorter hair on legs and head – creating contrast and highlighting their athletic build.
